Building with SA Designer Homes
As a custom home builder serving the Adelaide metro area, we offer a full design and build solution for your dream home. We create affordable, bespoke, quality homes either from your plans, or we can design your dream home for you. We have shelf designs available that can be modified to suit your needs.

We only take on a select number of homes, at any one time, so we can offer attention to detail, personalised service and ensure we’ll be there when needed. We’ve worked with our suppliers to create a specification to a high standard that we would be proud to put in our own family home.

For your added peace of mind, you’ll receive a fixed-price building contract, with no hidden charges with a locked footing price.

Our Process as an Adelaide Custom Home Builder
You are more than just a number to us at SA Designer Homes, which is why we use a thorough building process to ensure the best outcomes.

Our process is outlined below:

Initial meeting with us to discuss your new build, either with your plans or ours. A rough price is given after the meeting, once we’ve done a site visit and spoken to our engineer.
A Preliminary Service Agreement is signed and a small deposit is paid. This deposit comes off the final price of the building contract at the end of the build.
Preliminaries begin, and after the plans are finalised and signed off, you begin selections at our suppliers.
After planning approval is obtained from the council, a fixed price building contract is prepared and signed by you. Another small deposit is paid, which again comes off the final price at the end of the build.
Construction drawings are prepared and sent off for certification.
Once all approvals are received, we commence construction within 2- 3 weeks.
Around 40 weeks later, we have the pleasure to hand over your brand new home to enjoy!

Focusing on Communication
A successful build starts with great communication and partnership. We understand that communication is a very important part of the relationship between builder and client. We take pride that our clients’ always deal with the same people from start to finish, and you can be involved as much or as little as you like.

We also involve you in crucial meetings during the construction stages as follows:

Meet on site to discuss the position of tapware and accessories
Meet with the electrician to discuss any special electrical requirements.
Meet with the tiler to confirm tile placement and configuration to your expectations.
Meet with our supplier to confirm Robe and Showerscreen selections.

We understand that things can change during the build that ultimately gets missed when putting it to paper, that’s why we value frequent open communication.

As a first home owner I was excited but hesistant to build - there are plenty of horror stories. I spoke to several builders at the start. One was a 'big' builder but it felt very impersonal and that they didnt really care. When I contacted Peter from SA Designer Homes he was very approachable and understood what my partner and I wanted - it was a good feeling from the start and I'm happy to say that feeling stayed until the end. What really stood out was the communication - Peter is always available to chat or meet up and answer any queries. It really made the process so enjoyable and smooth - we always knew what was going on He went above and beyond his role as we sorted our way through all the things we didnt know as first time land and home owners (thankyou!) If there was a problem it was sorted (and explained) quickly. The end product is a high quality custom made home. It may not be the cheapest if we'd gone with the big builders who make 200+ homes a year but it was still affordable and finished to a high standard. I am so glad we chose SA Designer Homes and we will definitely build with Peter and his team again

Building a house is quite a complex process and completing a build on time, on budget and without having to reach for the valium to bring down the stress levels is rare - SA designer Homes managed to do it and made it look easy. Peter, the principal of SADH, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some excellent advice over the course of the build and as he was also our site manger we could contact him with any issues which he generally resolved very quickly - every time! Communication is first rate coupled with his own very high standards and good sense of humour certainly made him a pleasure to work with.Overall, a good experience with a great result.

We contacted multiple builders and all but 1 actually didn't even get back to us. When I was told of SA Designer Homes we made contact and from the first chat we were informed of everything and given a price that was followed through on. Communication was outstanding and the house was built in great time and quality is great. I cant reccommend SA Designer Homes enough.
